Comments: I attended this concert with Linda, a friend from Eaton’s. I have some photos of the show somewhere. As soon as I can find them I shall scan them and add them to the page. Phil Collins had a trumpet on a stand beside him all night long. He would pick it up from time to time, key the finger buttons and blow the occasional bum note but he never actually played the damned thing. Which, considering the blating and farting sounds which came from it every time he would blow into the mouth piece, was probably a good thing.
The set list itself was great and still contained a decent selection of songs from the Gabriel era. An you can never go wrong with The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Firth of Fifth and I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe) in a live setting. This was back in the day when Collins would still perform his Tarantula tambourine freak out during the encore.
